Auction: Dreamcast Employee Jacket
Sega of America has shown no shortage of generosity with its auctions during the Play For Japan campaign, and it’s in items like this that it’s even more apparent. Witness this: a Dreamcast Employee Jacket from the late 90s.
When you finish drooling about how awesome this item is, we’ve got info below to tell you even more about it!
First, this is a super-rare, Employees only Dreamcast jacket that was given out to the original Dreamcast team here at SEGA of America right around the original launch. This jacket in particular is brand new, having never been worn and still has the original tags around the zipper from the manufacturer. It’s a size L, and features a fully embroidered SEGA Logo on the left, and a fully embroidered Dreamcast logo on the right.
This is one of our most amazing pieces of Dreamcast merchandise to hit the auction block. Not only is this an insanely rare jacket on its own, but it’s also still in completely new condition, now over ten years later. If you’re a Dreamcast fan, this is a rare opportunity to pick up a piece of merchandise even most of us here at SEGA will never have a chance to own – and all for a good cause!
Your chance to win this exceptionally rare item will expire on April 6 at 19:39:58 PDT. All of the sales proceeds from this auction benefit the American Red Cross.
Auction: SEGA Signed Game Collection (PS3)
Sega has no shortage of big auctions at its eBay shop, but this latest auction grabbed our attention immediately. Rather than post an auction for one signed copy of a game, the publisher has auctioned a suite of signed games, including recent release Yakuza 4.
The ultimate collection piece for any SEGA fan who owns a PS3, this is a set of seven mint, signed games, all donated by our PD department to help raise funds for Japan relief efforts.
All seven games are signed by the SEGA of America producer(s) who worked on them, and each is in mint condition. The full list of games includes:
Bidding starts at .99 cents, though this bundle is worth far more – even without signatures!
The winning bidder may also pick one game to request a personalized message from the producer involved with it. You can have your favorite game in the mix addressed to you, directly from the people who worked on it!
This auction closes on April 5 at 17:35:19 PDT, with all sales benefiting the American Red Cross.
Auction: Official Bayonetta Costume
If you haven’t already noticed, Sega is pulling out all the stops to auction off materials for earthquake and tsunami disaster relief. We thought Yu Suzuki-signed art, or Valkyria Chronicles-signed posterboards were already rather high-ticket items. Then a notice for this official Bayonetta costume showed up.
We are incredibly excited to offer this for auction. If you were at E3, Comic Con, or saw coverage of events where we had our live Bayonetta model, then you’ve seen this item in action. This is the completely original, totally custom-made, incredibly accurate and detailed Bayonetta costume. It’s truly the only one like it in the world.
If you’re willing to take your chances with this custom-made outfit and seeing if it fits you or not, the auction ends on March 30 at 21:15:06 PDT. All proceeds will benefit the American Red Cross.
Auction: Valkyria Chronicles – Official Posterboard Art
Sega of America is auctioning several rare goodies on its eBay shop, including the last piece of promotional posterboard art from the Valkyria Chronicles San Francisco Launch Event.
What you’re looking at is one of the rarest pieces of original Valkyria Chronicles promotional merch in the west. Featuring Welkin Gunther, Alicia Melchiott, and their tank the Edelweiss, this beautiful piece of art was printed on a huge piece of glossy, thick posterboard, and was one of three pieces of promo Art used at the Valkyria Chronicles Launch Event in San Francisco.
The other two pieces in the set were given out at the event, and now, for the first time ever, we’re auctioning off the third and final piece to help raise funds for Japan relief efforts. Now you can bid on this exclusive piece of promo art and help Japan at the same time!
This auction ends on March 29 at 14:42:38 PDT with 100% of proceeds benefiting the American Red Cross.
Auction: Phantasy Star Universe – Signed Artwork
Among Sega of America’s numerous auctions on their eBay Shop, Phantasy Star fans will want to cast their gaze upon this signed artwork from Phantasy Star Universe.
What you’re looking at is one of only two prints of rare, signed art celebrating the launch of “Phantasy Star Universe: The Ambition of the Illuminus”. When PSU: AOTI launched, there were two pieces with this art created in a large, glossy style, each signed by Satoshi Sakai, the producer for Phantasy Star at SEGA of Japan. The matching sister piece to this artwork was given out last year at SEGA’s “Play with SEGA!” Community Event in San Francisco, making what you see here the final piece that will ever be up for grabs.
The auction will close March 29 at 19:14:32 PDT with all proceeds benefitting the American Red Cross.
Auction: Signed Copy of Valkyria Chronicles (PS3)
Sega of America is generously auctioning off several items to aid in earthquake and tsunami relief for Japan. Among the standouts: a signed copy of Valkyria Chronicles.
One of SEGA’s best games for the PS3 – and perhaps one of the best games on the console itself – this is a rare chance to pick up a shiny copy of Valkyria Chronicles, signed by two key members of the Japanese development team. This includes Ryutaro Nonaka, the game’s producer from SEGA of Japan!
The auction closes on March 29 at 14:13:13 PDT. 100% of the proceeds will be donated to the American Red Cross.
Auction: Outrun Art Signed by Yu Suzuki – One of a Kind!
Sega of America has plenty of fascinating stuff up in its eBay shop, but there are a few real standouts, such as this Outrun art signed by game designer Yu Suzuki.
This is a small (6 inches wide, 7 inches tall) photo-quality art piece that was signed by Yu Suzuki in black Sharpie. He signed this in our offices, and we have video footage of him signing it. It is suitable for framing, although it does not come with a frame.
The auction closes on March 29 at 13:41:29 PDT. All proceeds benefit the American Red Cross.
Auction: Sega Yakuza Limited Edition Track Jacket
Sega of America is auctioning several rare goodies on its eBay shop, including this limited edition Yakuza track jacket, available in an XL (that’s in Japanese size, which is slightly smaller).
Based on SEGA’s hit series Ryu Ga Gotoku, (known as Yakuza in the west), this track jacket is a beautifully embroidered, limited edition piece of style and flow all in one. When they were sold in retail, these jackets were priced at over $200 each!
The jacket itself has never been worn and was taken out of its packaging only twice to get pictures and footage of. If you’re a Yakuza fan, this is a piece of truly rare merchandise that few in the world will ever get their hands on.
The auction closes on March 29 at 12:59:50 PDT. All proceeds will benefit the American Red Cross.
Auction: Sonic the Hedgehog 15th Anniversary Statue
Sega of America has several items available in its eBay shop, including this ultra-rare Sonic the Hedgehog 15th Anniversary Statue. And when they say “limited edition,” they mean it.
Any Sonic fan worth their weight in rings and emeralds will know how rare this is. Limited to only 2500 pieces in the world, we’re auctioning off one of the statues we’ve been keeping protected here at SEGA to donate for a good cause!
These statues sold for well over $100 five years ago, and their value has skyrocketed since. The statue itself is also brand new; we have listed it as ‘used’ because the box was opened once to check the # on the certificate of authenticity within.
The auction closes on March 29 at 12:30:47 PDT. All proceeds will benefit the American Red Cross.
Auction: Sega Dreamcast Console Bag/Backpack
Sega of America has many Play For Japan-endorsed auctions available to choose from, but this is one of the absolute standouts: a Dreamcast console bag. That’s right, it’s from 1999-2000-ish.
This bag may be from the Dreamcast era, but it’s in brand-new condition and appears to have never been used. When we moved offices a few years ago, we found this bag and have been holding on to it ever since. We’re parting ways with it now to support relief efforts in Japan. Now is your chance to place a bid, do some good, and get your hands on this rare bag!
The auction closes on March 29 at 12:17:57 PDT. All proceeds will benefit the American Red Cross.
